01The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and SoilPulse AI LLC (“SoilPulse”, “we”, “us”) for using the SoilPulse website, web application, advisory content and community. By creating an account, or by signing in to an account that was created for you, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
In plain words
- You own the data about your farm. We use it to give you advice.
- Advice is guidance. You know your land, and the decisions on it are yours.
- Treat other farmers in the community the way you would at the market.
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if something looks wrong.
02Who may use SoilPulse
- You must be 18 or older. Younger people may take part through a parent, guardian or cooperative who holds the account.
- You must give accurate details: your real name, a phone number or email address you control, and where you actually farm. Advisory and alerts are matched to that location, so wrong details mean wrong advice.
- One person, one account. Cooperatives, field agents and institutions use accounts in the matching role rather than sharing a farmer’s login.
03Your account
You sign in with your phone number, your email address or your username, and your password. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so:
- Keep your password to yourself. SoilPulse staff never ask for it and never see it.
- If an account was created for you, change the temporary password the first time you sign in.
- Sign out on a phone or computer you share with other people.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account. We can reset your password and check what happened.
Your role decides what you can see and do. A farmer manages their own farms. A field agent, extension officer or cooperative coordinator works within an assigned district. Roles other than farmer, cooperative, agronomist and researcher are granted by an administrator.
04What SoilPulse provides
- Soil monitoring
- Moisture, pH, temperature and nutrient readings from sensors placed on your farm, with a soil health score, charts and alerts.
- Advisory
- Guidance on soil health, crop nutrition, fertiliser rates, pest and disease management and farm management, matched to your crop, region and district.
- Pest and disease catalogue
- A record of what has affected each farm, with photos, symptoms, severity, treatment and outcome.
- Farm mapping
- Walked or drawn farm boundaries and coordinates, stored only with your location consent.
- Updates
- Weather, market, seasonal and policy updates, and broadcasts from administrators.
- Community and support
- Chatrooms organised by crop, and support threads with the field agent for your district by text or voice note, in your language.
- Assistant
- A built-in assistant that answers soil and farming questions from a curated library of guidance.
- Languages
- English, Twi, Ewe, Ga and Hausa. Some content may appear in English before it has been translated.
05Advice is guidance, not a guarantee
Everything the platform tells you, whether it comes from a sensor reading, the advisory library, the assistant, a pest photo or a field agent, is guidance to help you decide. It is not a guarantee of a harvest, a price or an outcome.
- Readings depend on where a sensor is placed, how it is maintained and its battery. A reading from one point is not the whole field.
- Advisory is general to a crop and a place. It cannot know everything about your soil, your seed, your weather this week or your budget.
- The assistant answers from a library of guidance. It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Confirm anything important with an extension officer or agronomist.
- A pest or disease named from a photo is a suggestion for identification, not a diagnosis.
06Your data and what you post
Your farm data belongs to you. So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store it, process it, show it to the people your permissions allow, and turn it into scores, alerts and advice for you. You can withdraw permissions, download everything or have it erased as described in the Privacy Policy.
Posts in a community room are shown to that room’s members with your name and photo, and stay visible after you leave the room unless you delete them. Photos you upload of a pest, a plant or a field should be yours to share; if a person is in the photo, ask them first.
You are responsible for what you post. It must be true to the best of your knowledge, lawful, and yours to share.
07Acceptable use
Do not:
- Harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone in a community room or support thread.
- Post false pest or disease reports, misleading prices, or advice you know to be wrong.
- Enter sensor readings, boundaries or farm details that you know are false, or tamper with data belonging to others.
- Pretend to be another person, a field agent, an organisation or SoilPulse.
- Use another person’s account, or share yours.
- Try to get past access checks, copy data about other farmers, or scrape the platform.
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, or to sell products or services without our written agreement.
Community rooms are moderated. Posts that break these rules may be removed and repeat behaviour may lead to suspension.
08Field agents, cooperatives, officers and administrators
If you hold one of these roles, you also agree to the following.
- Work only within the district you are assigned to, and only with farmers who have asked for support or been enrolled with you.
- Create an account for a farmer only with their agreement, enter their details accurately, and hand over the temporary password to them directly.
- Treat everything you see about a farmer as confidential. Use it to advise them, not for any other purpose.
- Keep your own credentials safe. An administrator account can reach every account on the platform, and its holder is accountable for what is done with it.
- Send broadcasts only about matters relevant to the recipients. A broadcast cannot be recalled once sent.
09Sensors and hardware
Sensors are supplied and installed separately from these terms. The platform records what a sensor sends; it cannot make a poorly placed, damaged or flat sensor accurate. Keep probes clean, replace batteries when the platform warns you, and recalibrate as advised. Unless we supplied the hardware under a separate written agreement, we are not responsible for its faults.
10Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep SoilPulse available around the clock, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Maintenance is announced by broadcast where we can. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn as the platform develops; where a change removes something you rely on, we give reasonable notice inside the app.
11Suspension and closing your account
You can close your account at any time by asking us, and your data is erased as set out in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used fraudulently, or puts other users or the platform at risk. Where possible we tell you why and give you a chance to respond, and you can always request a download of your data first.
12Disclaimers and limits on liability
The platform is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law of Ghana allows, we make no warranty that it will be error-free, that readings will be accurate, or that advice will produce any result, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, crops or yields. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13Ownership
The SoilPulse software, design, advisory library, name and logo belong to SoilPulse AI and its licensors. You may use them through the platform for your own farming and, for staff roles, for supporting farmers; you may not copy, resell or build a competing service from them. Your data, your photos and your posts remain yours.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If we have a disagreement, write to us first and we will try to resolve it with you directly. Failing that, the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.
15Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform grows. The version and date at the top change when we do, and for material changes we tell you inside the app before they take effect. Continuing to use SoilPulse after that date means you accept the updated terms.
